A city council has called a meeting of residents and Post Office managers to discuss plans to close branches.
Post office closures in Cambridge are due to be announced on 8 July and this will trigger a public consultation period lasting until 26 August.
Cambridge City Council is strongly urging residents and community and voluntary sector organisations to provide views about these closures.
A public consultation meeting will take place on 22 July at the Guildhall.
Post Office managers will explain the criteria they used to identify the branches they plan to close.
'Vital service'
"They will also set out how people can respond to their consultation," a city council spokesman said.
Ian Nimmo-Smith, leader of Cambridge City Council, said: "It is really important that as many people as possible give Post Office Limited their views on the proposed closures.
"We have arranged this public meeting for residents so that they can find out more information and express their concerns.
"We believe post offices offer a vital service for local communities, particularly for elderly people who may be less mobile and for people on lower incomes.
"Post offices are often the hub of a neighbourhood and we are very concerned about these proposed closures."
